This year's TPA NIGHT AT
HAUNT was a big success and those in attendance had a great time!
The evening (Friday,
October 10th) began with the great Pre-Scare Dinner, which has been
consistently very good over the past several years. TPA fans
started gathering at the Farm in the late afternoon and at 5:00 P.M.,
started going in groups to the back room of Auntie Pasta's restaurant to
be seated in our section in the back of the restaurant. Once
seated, the group started eating. And eating. And eating.
Good food! Good times!
Throughout dinner,
madness reigned with jokes, introductions (unofficially officiated by
Beast - which was a highlight of the night) and contest announcements,
we made our way outside for some group photos and the beginning of our
Haunt experience.
Once inside the park, we
always congregate near the entrance to Camp Snoopy, which is awesome,
because many of The Gauntlet's inhabitants are expecting us and thrill
the fans by mingling and posing for many photos. It's also a great
time for people to snap their own images of many of their favorite
monsters in actions as they unleash Hell on unsuspecting victims that
have just come through Main Gate.
As darkness fell, we made
our way through mazes, beginning with Slaughterhouse. Maze after
maze, Scare Zone after Scare Zone, and of course, The Hanging - these
things create a very busy and very exciting night for our readers as we
work our way through the Scary Farm. Throughout the evening,
smaller groups of TPA folks broke off to go do one thing or another, but
the group always managed to meet up soon after and forge on together.
And there was no rain
this year! For the first time in several years, it was dry - and
even warm at times. This made for larger overall crowds, and
keeping our group together in maze lines proved to be a challenge - but
the entire evening went smoothly and all had an amazing time!
At the end of the night,
another TPA fan favorite takes place - the Midnight Buffet at Mrs.
Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Not only do TPAers get to rest
their sore and weary bones, the group as a whole gets to mingle with a
very large ensemble of Haunt monsters and crew that come to the Buffet
to mingle and meet, take pictures and relax with their most loyal fans!
The Midnight Buffet is a very cool and very popular portion of
TPA Night and this year was the best yet - monsters and fans alike at
3:00 AM, wolfing down piles of bacon and mountains of eggs and sausage
while guzzling Berry Punch... does it get any better?
The camera was always on
- always looking for the next awesome shot. And of course, we have
tons of completely NOT flattering images of our Tender Lumplings to
share with you as well! And as usual, it seems that we have a TPA
Night "tradition" of sorts that is spreading rapidly each time we gather
- lots and lots o-finger flippin at the camera! How many birds can
you spot in the following images.
Thank you to all that
came out and participated in TPA Night! It was a huge success,
thanks to everyone that showed up - and definitely to a team led by Elly
for much of the event; it was an awesome, awesome night - we cannot wait
for TPA Night 2009! |
